I have seen Frank Black live seven times. The recurring problem I had was the fact that I always drank at his concerts, hence the need to go pee.
Despite the fact that I try to carefully plan my 'calling' around his set.....there is always a struggle.
Now, in the case of Frank, there has never been a time, where, I would say, "oh I dont really care for this song, now I can pee". It sucks.
I like beer, and I like Frank Black,
this is one of my life's many struggles. |

I solved that problem 17 years ago, wow has it really been that long. In 1988 after a Metallica show I pledged to never drink before or during a concert again. Unlike some of you lucky few I have a very quick bladder. Once the water works are turned on its all over. I've yet to miss a song since. It also guarantees you'll never be that asshole who thinks he's making the show enjoyable for everyone else.

At the Adelaide Big Day Out I stood in front of the two main stages all day and didn't drink a thing. Though I nearly passed out from exhaustion, I didn't miss a beat (though with Slipknot I wish I had, that was hell on earth).

i've only seen him once and i had to piss then. but i could still hear everything in the toilet haha. back then i didn't know all his material and they were songs i didn't know. so it was ok.

I like topics about booze, and must add my 2 cents. At a Frank show, I like to drink and piss. This paid off because I shared a piss and chat with DaveP. I asked him to continue to bring the rock - he said that it wasn't up to him.. he was just a lowly employee. Frank came on stage after the intermission and commented: "the slow ones can rock as hard as the fast ones", or something like that.. Then played a ballad.

i think there was a thread dedicated to urine bags / concerts. how do you find these oooold ass threads BLT?
and cult, i think i told my ouzo thread in some "worst hangover ever" thread. BLT?
i still drink at concerts. i just accept the fact that at some point i'm going to have to go to the bathroom, but i'm good at fighting my way through crowds back to my spot. it's better to just go and releive yourself then sit there and wonder "should i wait till it's over, i wonder how many more songs they'll play" because you're not enjoying it. that's my urine philosophy |

I have a theory that with enough vitamin b, it becomes luminescent...
and with enough asparagus, you could make a girl goin' down on you vomit if she tries to swallow.
I need a euphemism for this, however, whether it's possible or not.

Sorry, I had asparagus once and was watching a movie where two old women were discussing how pineapple juice made it taste good (gross!) but they couldn't remember. Was it grapefruit? Cauliflower? And then I blurted out, "It's not asparagus" and the whole theatre cracked up. And since then I've wondered if it was true and I could make my mark on the 'awful euphemism' community.

Man, when it comes to general admission, I'm the first cat there. In special places like the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS, one can get right up against the small stage.* So I'll just stand there the whole time, right in front of the center mic. I refuse to move the entire show because when you get a chance to see somebody like FB in a small venue/bar, it is stupid to not get that special spot. I've never had to pee yet, but if I did...wow, I don't know what I'd do.
*Last time FB came there weren't many people there early on, so me and my buddy snuck out back and smoked a J. We got back just in time to get our spots. Man...I can't wait to FB comes back to the Bottleneck!

Long time ago (1996 tour) I heard Frank introduce "Shazeb Andleeb" as "our most rockin' song". He also said that "Sir Rockabye" used to be their most rockin' song. |

I have personally circumnavigated this problem in the past, by buying two tickets to each show. The other ticket being for my elderly mother, who stands dutifully by with a cool-box full of Carlsberg Special Brew, and an empty plastic bucket. I make the money back on the extra ticket, by allowing those around me to use the bucket in return for a small cash donation.
