When I first got Trompe, I must have listened to it a thousand times. I never looked at any song titles or anything, just listened to the music. And I always thought that ""Brine" and "Memphis" were one extended song. the way they blend into one another. In fact, when I make my Pixie CD's. I always have those two songs back to back, because it would seem like the songs were incoomplete if they were not together.

Bird Dream and Space blend AMAZINGLY together.

As do Palace and Letter.

And Letter makes a great side 1 closer.

And Bird Dream makes a great side 2 opener.

Some albums have really good track sequencing. Alien Lanes is one. The White Album is another. I always thought Trompe was among these monsters.

word! Trompe Le Monde has to be listened to on vinyl cause Bird Dream is the best side 2 opener EVER.

the whole trompe-album blends together perfectly, more than any other pixies/FB-album, in my opinion (and in shineoftheNever's opinion, too)

yeah, that's maybe the whole greatness of alien lanes, the songs are great, but the running order is the best thing of that cd

I think the jump between Brine and Memphis is so abrupt I could never consider it appropriate for one song - but thats just my opinion. Maybe im used to listening to the instrumental memphis version too much.

I was going to say the same thing. It flows very smoothly.

I agree. They're in the same key, so I think that's what people are hearing.
