I ordered mine from a bookshop run by a Canadian guy who insisted on telling me the entire plot of Tom Sharpe´s Wilt while waiting for the request to process. It´ll be here in a week. I told my friend who´s a performer on the Ramblas about it thinking he´d be pleased and he just said Fuck, as he´s writing one about human statues too.

Just finished it this morning. One of the best books I've ever read. Not to build it up or anything.

I found this guy at the local bookstore who has incredible taste in books. Everything he's referred to me has been fantastic. Its cool because I don't have to read through alot of crap to get to a good book. He referred this one, I'll ask him for other titles and let ya know.

I got mine yesterday, right now about fifty pages in. I don't want to rush it, mostly because its been awhile since I've read something I've loved, and want this to last.

i'm about a hundred pages in, i think it was plum in the observatory with the rope!
seriously, i've dog-eared a couple pages so far so i can quote them later, very grandiloquent, reminds me of james crumley in the way i want to remember phrases so i can say them at parties and sound smart. ;) |

i'm guilty of high-lighting totally redundant stuff in library books so the next borrower will wonder what the hell the signifigance of it is.....or, if it turns out the ending sucks and i can give it away early i'll go highlight some serious foreshadowing etc. just to be an asshole. |

Shiney, but in order to do that, you have to go back afterwards, once you've finished, and pick out where the foreshadowing was. You take a whole lot of effort to be mean.
And I'm impressed. Teach me?

i'm not mean very often, but shitty endings piss me off, i would rather have a slow, plodding book that i have to restart a couple times and have a redeeming ending than have a great paced book like "tell no one" by harlan coben and then they end it by giving the kid back and sharing custody!!! unfortunately in that one i didn't see it coming so i wrote in pencil at about 30 pages or so "the ending to this book sucks!" in the margin and then again at 60 pages, and then at 90 i wrote "why are you still reading this book?" and then at the end i wrote "see?" |

I've got about 40 pages left. Speaking of which, I'm about to go sit down and finish it. Should be done in less than an hour.
