Often critized that band... one of my motto but yesterday I saw at last the Talking Heads Videos and live performances. And I cannot believe how that singer from Ferdinand just tries to behave like David Byrne. He is an imitator of the worst kind.
I know nothing comes from nowhere, but there are limits and it deals with Good Taste.
I'm so shocked right now.
I plan to release an album called "I ripp-off the Velvet, the Stooges and The talking Heads" and get dress and sing like Bowie for it's my fantasma. I might become the new rock phenomenon.
I'm not pessimistic, I am sceptic. |

I'm pretty cool with Franz Ferdinand, though. The band, not the Archduke.

I dig Franz in a pretty major way. I honestly, do not care if they blatantly rip off other musicisans. The important thing is that I enjoy the band, right?

Everybody is ripping off something. I mean, I think ideas are all kind of derivative at this point - even if the artist doesn't know what they are alluding too.
I love Franz Ferdinand and I love(d) the Talking Heads. I think if you are going to continue something, or some kind of music, kudos to you if you are continuing something which is pretty fucking good.

Which is why some people round here need to shut the hell up about Interpol. They don't even sound like Joy Division anyway. He just kinda sings like Ian.
