Bird Noises was their first EP. It is ok.

I was actually thinking of Species Deceases which is another ep of theirs which features two classic tracks Progress and Hercules.

The artwork sucks

I was listening a lot to them when I was in high school too. I missed them at that time when they were touring with Sebadoh: one of the greatest regrets of my life!
Recently I started re-listening to their albums, and they're still as great as they were in my memory. This was a great great band. It's realy sad they didn't have the success they deserved.
And I agree: Mac's voice tugs you at the heartstrings when you get into it.

Have any of you Superchunk/Mac fans heard his collobartion with Bob Pollard called "Go Back Snowball"? That's a damn fine record.

Become aware my man! It's terrific. It's all Mac's music and Bob's vocals. It's called "Go Back Snowball - Calling Zero". It was released on Bob's own Fading Captain series thing.
