i'm saying, having it under a different name, what crowd are you going to be testing? a crowd who doesn't know anything about the pixies? (because they came to see "whatever made up name" for whatever reason) |

Do they still need to 'Test' anyone? I don't think so, at this point of their career.
I feel like a completely different person |

I think is kinda funny for bands to play secret shows, Pixies used to do it even before their break up |

It's true. They've been playing skateboard parks around the country. |

The funny thing is, I remember having an argument with this guy from England or Ireland or whatever something like 6 months ago. He claimed he saw Pixies at the beginning of 2004 (before the tour started) playing under a different name. I was (and still am) convinced he was lying, but all this talk about secret shows makes me wonder. Is this possible? For the Pixies to have secret shows without us knowing about them? |

I don't know so much about the Pixies having seceret shows, although it would be killer if it did.
But but back in the day, I was way underage, but my friend's brother told us about it. On different times, John Mellencamp and REM played secret shows. What they did was have a different band on the bill so people think its a reguar nite. The band takes the stage and they don't let anyone in. So you are treated to a really cool show thinking it was something local.
Its like when the test movies, they want to show it to an audience to get a read on how it is... how certain songs are recieved.. In this case, maybe it's to get some practice too. |
