Yet another '100, 50, or 10 greatest something or other on C4. Didn't they already have a top 100 albums, maybe that was of the century? Anyway Frank is in the ad for it, so he must have abit to say. The Pixies have featured in these types of programmes before, so now with their comeback they'll get the proper plaudits they deservse, well I'm assuming he's on for the Pixies, but Teenager would be in my top ten at least. I hate these type of shows but I have to watch it for The Man, it's on Sunday, on Channel 4, check listings as times may vary!

I haven't seen the ad yet, but remember the 'best of the decade' programme they aired months back. They included the Bossa planet in the commercial and a little segment of a song but when the show aired, not a damn Pixie in sight. I hope they don't do the same again.

It's nice to see Doolittle (and some other) in there, but really, who the fuck makes these lists anyways? 100 Greatest albums? Bullshite. There is no such thing.
(I'll vote anyway ;-)

Seeing as it's already filmed... Maybe they'll show more clips of Frank commenting on albums if the Pixies are higher up... vote!

VOTE TEENAGER!

It's like the one hundred greatest albums compiled from one hundred pointless polls. I know alot of them deserve to be recognised, but some...i wonder what the judges actually listen too. Maybe records from previous polls.

Panel of music industry experts...erm..okay.

In the ad Franks saying Led Zepplin IV would be his choice, solid. I would have added X - Wild Gift and Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers to the list.

someday someone is going to compile the perfect top 100 list, that everyone in the world will agree on, precisely, with each band and their ranking order.

not a single person will say, "how come they don't have _____?" or "NO WAY _____ should be ranked above ________!!!" it will be the last top 100 list ever made. the final list.

know what i'm sayin' dawg?

I'd think music industry experts would be about the LAST people who should be choosing the top 100 albums. Actual MUSIC experts, now, that's another story.

I squeal like a girl every time that ad comes on.

Frank smiling, looking fine and saying Led Zepplin.

Usually they try to get their moneys worth with these talking heads type things, so I'm hoping for a really good dose of Frank.

The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

So, Doolittle's one step below Dire Straits' 'Brothers In Arms'. Nice.

Hmm, well all credibility goes out the window when you place Pet Sounds down at number 33. What?

It's not the best choice no, but overall I guess I'm pleased because it is a great album, they are an excellent band and I was really surprised. Really surprised it wasn't queen/the beatles, really pleased it wasn't nevermind, and thankful it wasn't something that would make me throw things at the television.

Yeah, it is a brilliant album, and so nice to see a song from our (my) generation recognised above all others
Idioteque is one of the best songs i've ever heard performed live, and the song Kid A is one of my all time faves for it's beauty.

but Pet Sounds.....33?.....that's not on.

you know what, to momentarily highjack the thread, I adore Kid A and it seems to be the least well recieved, I saw radiohead on the OK computer tour and they rocked started with airbag and filled the room with noise from the begin, the only time the room went deathly quiet was for exit music... saw them a few years later just before (or around) the release of Kid A and they blew themselves out of the water. Superb, you're right, Idioteque live is awesome. But, Morning Bell, gets me every time...

Thanks for that link holiday son, I'm going to re-digest the list now (it's something to do)
