Hey anyone know what color Frank Black Gutair pics are?

Does anyone have a picture of a real, live genuine FB gutair pic?

Just wondering, because I am hoping to make an icon that looks like his gutair pic for the website redesign.

Thank you for your help!!!!

What colour? I'm sure he is'nt fussy about that!! I don't know if he has a special brand of plectrum, I'm sure he favours particular types i.e light, plastic, or whatever. That's quite sweet, though!

(No FB pics there, I'm afraid....I though this topic was gonna be about pictures of his guitars!)

Orange dunlops, I believe. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. You might search the tabs section of the forum; we had a discussion on this a while back.

LOL... i am going to change the topic make... to make it more clear

Thanks Carl for the advise... I just want to get it "right."

Wow that book you had was really cool!

I could swear though on ebay his pic was a certain color... i am pretty sure it was red, green, blue or yellow... it doesn't help...

but you are right...I can't see frank having a special color that he plays with at all times either.

Thanks for the advise!

i posted after you about an hour ago in the graphics thread, daisy. didn't see this one.

he uses orange dunlops. some pics from the pixies tour have found their way to ebay, but i guess there was a screw up when they were made because frank has been playing with pics that say "kim" and kim has been playing with pics that say either "frank" or "charles," i can't remember which.

Actually for certain manufacturers of picks it is the color that identifies the thickness of the pick.

So no he's probably not picky about the color because he thinks they're pretty, but rather because he likes the feel of the orange Dunlops as opposed to say...yellow (thinner) Dunlops.

yah, i got myself a load of orange dunlops after finding out he used them. just because up until then i'd had enough of using random cheapo ones and wanted to find a set that i was comfortable with. good place to start: your favourite musicians preferred pick. i like then. i haven't tried many others though. i tried yellow ones but even they are too thick for me now.

That is a lovely photo. Thanks for posting it.
It also belongs in the Pix of Beautiful Men thread, no?

Speaking of which, I wonder if this thread shouldn't be in General FB chat.

i know Brian May uses coins for picks, the old sixpence for a more metallic sound like 50 said.
i've tried with one of our 2p coins but it sounded like shit and felt like it too. nothing to do with my playing, of course.

IMO those Tortex picks wear out too fast. I prefer the Dunlop Nylon picks in various shades of gray.

The picture I have of him behind my PC, playing at Coachella, shows him using a lilac coloured pick. I am sure he has used pretty much every colour at one time or another.

I have some of those tortex pics. I don't like really really hard, thick pics or really flimsy ones, even for acoustic strumming. I mean, those frickin' wafer-thin ones.
