I was just going through some Simpsons-threads in the general chat, and was wondering if the Pixies would ever guest in the Simpsons.
Seems not unlikely to me, because they previously had Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, REM, U2, RHCP, etc etc. And the Pixies seem (to me at least) favorable objects to make cartoons of: some larger built than others, one latino-type guy,...
Any ideas? Have the Pixies ever shown interest in the Simpsons? Are they a fan?
Or vice versa: has Matt Groening or anybody of the Simpson-staff ever mentioned the Pixies for their wish-list of guest appearences? |

Since they reunited, I've been thinking the same thing, it would be hilarious!! Simpsons-staff better hurry up because in any moment Family Guy or South Park will make a Pixies appearance. Oh and I hope they also perform on SNL :) |

Even Spinal Tap had their own episode.

I think in January 2004, Frank said that he did not watch the Simpsons. |

Ah, South Park gets irritating. It can be very funny, but it drags on a bit. Too much overacting. ;) |

i think they improved all over the years, but I wonder how they can still be broadcast, the themes are so politicaly incorrect for the American audience! (actually for any audience)

I wish the Simpsons were put to bed a good twelve or so years ago. First few seasons contain some of the finest comedy ever but now it's just an abomination. |

I've been watching it, 241 episodes in three months. It is flip and irreverent. It took a few seasons to get through a sweet period to the kaleidoscope funhouse.
Them, Robot is a great episode from season 23.
My favourite part in the more recent seasons is the mad journey to the main story. |

The show used to be packed with jokes; now it seems flat. I know my taste has changed over the years but I also think the writing isn't as sharp and somewhat subtle as it was before. Plus, shows, even funny animated ones probably aren't meant to go on and on and on. |
