The best thing since coconut milk curry sauce! I love it when it doesn't get dark until 9:00 (although it will be a month or two before it's that late).

I hate it.
It's 4.30am and I have a lecture in less than five hours.
As if I didn't have enough trouble getting to sleep.

I'm from Saskatchewan, what is it? :P

Actually, it's nice not having to worry about, but it's also a pain because sometimes we're an hour ahead with place x and sometimes we're in the same time zone as them.

back home, it doesn't get dark until around 10 in summer, which is fabulous. western australia (for some reason) doesn't believe in that kinda stuff, so sunrise/sunset pretty much stays at 6am/6pm all year round, which kinda sux.

By a strange coincidence, last week-end we switched to daylight savings time, and this saturday I had shrimps in coconut milk curry sauce.
Hard to decide really, but I think DST is better than CMCS though.

Yeah, now it's a high of 30 F and light outside versus a high of
30 F and dark outside. Big diff.

Pass me some coconut curry sauce. I could use something good
right about now.

No, we don't say it. But back in the day I heard it a lot on "The young ones". Do you remember the show? I thought it was a funny expression, so I use it often here.

We use other funny words here.

I love The Young Ones! It took some time to get used to it though. I thought it was way too bizzare the first time I saw it. But after a while I really got into it.

No, I mean "The Young Ones".

"Pigs!!! Pigs!!! He's killed a hippie!!!" or something like that.

They were great until they became extremely weird. I sometimes think this show is the main reason that makes me enjoy things like "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou"

In that case I am sick as well. I like Rik Mayall. Rick is actually my favorite character in that show.
So are you saying "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" is worth seeing then?

The portuguese Bowie covers made the movie for me. If you like him, it's enough reason to watch the movie. Anyway, I'm not saying it's a good movie, but I liked it.

Rik was my fave character when I saw it some years ago. When I watched the series for the first time, it was Neil, because Rik was very annoying for me at the time. I remind an episode where the boys went out from their roles and I thought that the guy with the Neil character (I don't remember his name, I'm spanish!) was quite good-looking.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/04/07/daylight.saving.ap/index.html

quote:

Congress may extend daylight-saving time

WASHINGTON (AP) -- If Congress passes an energy bill, Americans may see more daylight-saving time.

Lawmakers crafting energy legislation approved an amendment Wednesday to extend daylight-saving time by two months, having it start on the first Sunday in March and end on the last Sunday in November.

"Extending daylight-saving time makes sense, especially with skyrocketing energy costs," said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Michigan, who along with Rep. Ed Markey, D-Massachusetts, co-sponsored the measure.

The amendment was approved by the House Energy and Commerce Committee that is putting together major parts of energy legislation likely to come up for a vote in the full House in the coming weeks.

"The more daylight we have, the less electricity we use," said Markey, who cited Transportation Department estimates that showed the two-month extension would save the equivalent of 10,000 barrels of oil a day.

The country uses about 20 million barrels of oil a day.

the above post is a snide remark and has little to do with the conversation
