I know I'm not suppose to start pointless topics like this, but seriously, where did everybody go? Is it because of the holidays? Everybody merrily celebrating away from their computers? I can't remember the last time this forum was so inactive. I realize that maybe I should just start an interesting topic instead of complaining but complaining is so much more fun.

holiday for me means being a loser and staying at home all the day (i.e. on the computer). so this lack of posting is annoying me too. |

I'm practising with my band in the Pyrenees and I've been spending way less time in front of a monitor anyway. We're going to a hot spring bath tonight for hotness and wetness to help with the general lubricity of the music.

Things slow down on the weekends and today is Easter Sunday in the States, so maybe people have obligations. Or something.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics |

stay up late some nite. they start here at 3 am. they're preceded with "this is a paid advertisement for..." *TimeLife Music collection *Girls Gone Wild *The AbLounge *The Bowflex *George Forman grill *stay-sharp knives
they all include the phrases "but wait! there's more!" and "the first 200 callers will receive" and "if you call now" and all have cheesy 'testimonials' from happy peppy folks who've used this brand new item for years and couldn't go to the can with out it... |

My favourite commercial (not a infomercial, but if they could affoard to run them they probably would) is for the "Miracle Bracelet" which is a stupid bracelet which they claim to have "ionized" with their "patented ionizing technology".
Also, I like the "Magic Bullet" infomercials, it takes place in some set made to look like a kitchen. With actors playing people from "all walks of life".
There is a actor playing a middle aged woman who "never has enough time to cook for her husband". Then also, a fat actor playing the crazy fat party guy in the hawaiian shirt. Then two actors playing a yuppie couple, then a few other random actors - can't remember.
Anyways, they go on to make all these dishes and things. All using - you guessed it - their MAGIC BULLET! If you've never heard of if; it's basically a little tiny blender.
It was always one of my favourite informercials, also the one for the club. Which is like a device designed to prevent people from stealing your vechile. They have a woman in a bikini, and also a big strong guy who trys to BRAKE THE CLUB! - which, incase you're uninformed - IS UNBREAKABLE! atleast to this particular BIG STRONG GUY. |

We not only have the George Forman gril... we also have the ROTISSERIE CHICKEN MAKING MACHINE THING!
I've never used the rotiessrie thing, but I've used the grill on several occasions. It really sucks - I find it dies out the meat. I don't eat a lot of meat though, usualy like snack food. I'm probably not a healthy person though - but as long as I'm not fat or dead - I'm happy. |

I was at my girlfriend's house when this thread was started. I CAN access the forum from there, but I usually don't, since her Internet connection is pretty slow.
I saw a pretty amusing infomercial for a place that sells arcade machines. The guy who owns the place did some really corny jokes, including parodying the scene from "The Wizard of Oz" with the Wicked Witch of the West and the hourglass three times.
"See that? That's all the time you have left! And it isn't long, my pretty, it isn't long!"
"Reunion? Shit union!" |
