is Carla Bozulich's Red Headed Stranger. Seriously. I've mentioned it a dozen times on this forum but I have to insist. Your life isn't fulfilled until you hear this stunning record. It has the wonderful songs of Willie Nelson, some stunning lap steel played by Nels Cline, it has some electric mbira and Mr Electronic Tamboura, it has Carla's most beautiful vocals to date, and 2 duets with Willie Nelson himself. It comes in a beautiful digipack with a really cool picture of Carla. It'll haunt you day and night. It'll make you cry, laugh, dance, shiver, and throw away all your other records.

Well I'll check it out too then... But I do think you're out of your mind if you think it's better than Carla's RHS.
By the way, I forgot, you can order her album at http://www.carlabozulich.com and for $15 including postage you get the CD plus free stickers, t-shirts and stuff, and if you ask her she'll sign the CD.

is the best ever made
although I don't think that either
the beach boys recordings 1966/1967 or the BW recordings from 2004
do justice to the beauty of it
that's why it's so good

You people better enjoy having those albums being the best for the meantime, because I plan on writing the greatest ever! Haplodiploidy will place you into eternal awe. You're all nuts. The most beautiful album ever released is Kristin Hersh's 'Sunny Border Blue'. I say. I repeat. I swear.
However, as I'm open-minded, I ordered RHS just after your post, Denis. Actually I recently read an excellent review of it, so it wasn't too hard to convince me :) |

The best album ever is Ellis Hooks - Uncomplicated.
Just kidding, that sucks.
Probably 3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul. Though Sunny Border Blue is great too. |

i would say that although its a boring choice, the beatles 'the beatles' aka the white album is the best album ever recorded. strong runners up include 'pet sounds' by the beach boys, 'dog in the sand' by you know who, and 'a love supreme' by john coltrane

An album that goes from Dear Prudence, to Bungalow Bill, to Piggies, to Savoy Truffle, to Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey, has got to be a great album.
Not the best though.
