i was going to post this in the mens locker room thread but then thought better of it.
i saw the most amazing northern lights show last night!! it was unreal. never seen anything like it and i've seen the northern lights before. it went on for about 1 hour. they were dancing around- mainly different shades of white but then had the odd purple, blue, and orange. and no i wasn't on mushrooms!
our baby usually sleeps no problem through the night but she started really crying at 2:00 am. my wife got up (isn't she amazing!) and then called me down to check out the sky outside. all three of us laid down on the grass and checked out this amazing show for 1 hour. it was truly cosmic.

here's some pic's from google to get an idea.
it would be great to see a video so you can really see the colours and lights dance around.
if you've never seen them it really is something you have to experience once in your life.

Another reason to love North America, Tre!
The best is when it's winter, dead of night, and you see them looming above.
But Fu's 2 a.m. family picnic sounds awesome, too.

We were lucky enough that they happened on the night my wife and I got married. Not as spectacular as the pics, but great to see nonetheless.

Stipe have said several times that Athens, Georgia is the least inspiring place on earth for a band. But there are several amazing bands from Athens.

It truly is a spectacular day. The puppies' noses are cute, the kittens' little tails are darling and the sun is shining its every blessing over all of creation. I am so happy to be ALIVE!

On my way into university I pass a flower seller and they are selling these really pretty red pom pom dahlias, I'm helping a friend with an essay today and she was quite distressed yesterday so I thought "I know, some pretty red flowers will cheer her right up" so I bought some.
am now acutely aware am going to look like
a) mentalist with these flowers in the library
b) psycho lesbian giving flowers to a girl
Damn me and my not thinking.
