Ugh I had a dream about pulling my teeth out the other day that they just pulled out, woke up andpractically drank the clove mouthwash, flossed and brushed my teeth several times willing them to be healthy.
Floop, I might make a thread about it, I might not, work avoidance you understand!

I don't enjoy playing "bloke vs. bird" while speaking to the person in question. I stil don't have an answer. |

I didn't want to clutter up that other thread. So this girl: she's 18. I'm 24 (25 in a couple months). Is that terrible?

No. But I'd be careful. She may seem really mature but in a relationship she may not be when it comes to the crunch. I have learnt this the hard way.
I guess floop WAS right!

boys mature at a slower rate than girls, I'd hold of ten years and then try it with an 18 year old
I dated a 27 year old when I was 19, and I know I was the mature one in that relationship

Nah. When I was 17 I dated a 30-yr-old. It all depends on the people and their compatibility.

What Kathryn said but older and I've dated younger than me too. Don't feel odd about it - it'll all make sense in good time. |

Well then, I will invent someone you WILL be jealous of. Angeline Jolie looks with Kim Deal cool and Jimmy Choo shoes. Oh, and she works in the porn industry, but she does it better than you.

Okay that last bit really hurt.
Kick me while I'm down why don't you - I missed out on 3 days of rock and roll bad behaviour with some really good friends who I'm not going to see for ages again. I'm not seeing 80s Matchbox tomorrow night and that donkey I backed today really did turn out to be a donkey.

Well yeah but at the end of it all, somebody that young can (and there's a decent chance will) still turn out to be immature on crucial points within the relationship. It's to be expected I guess, they don't have as much experience in general, but I think it needs considering when getting into a relationship with someone that young unless you are that young yourself.
I guess floop WAS wrong!

and like I say sometimes people in their thirties have less life experience than a twenty year old, it's an individual thing and on this you can't generalise. If the issue is feeling uncomfortable because of an age gap, if nothing else about the relationship or potential relationship leads to discomfort then there isn't an issue. If the fact they're younger as well as a load of other issues stemming from the youth are the problem then it's going to end in heartbreak all round.
This is just what I think. |

I think you can generalise actually. Sometimes generalising is necessary, you just have to be aware that you are doing it.
I certainly think that as someone who has had bad experiences with younger girls, I am in a position to tell Mike2 to be careful. I believe there to be a greater chance of immaturity relationship-wise with a teenager than there is with someone older. In my opinion.
Don't believe the type!
