I want to say Gordon Gano but I don't really like his solo album :(
So... since I haven't heard The Geraldine Fibbers or Gang Of Four (although I think I should, in both cases),
my vote goes out to GORKY'S ZYGOTIC MYNCI!
If there are any Welsh people on the forum, a pronunciation guide would be welcome, thank you.

jedi, the Geraldine Fibbers are no more, but you really should check out Carla Bozulich (GF leader)'s latest album, Red Headed Stranger. It's a song-by-song cover of the Willie Nelson album. The original Nelson record is great but Bozulich's version is simply awesome. My fave 2003 album right after SMYT.

Not Welsh, but anytime I've heard them on the Radio they've alway been pronounced as "Gor-kee's Sygotik (to rhyme with psychotic) Monkey"

I'm not Welsh, nor would I want to be, but in Welsh 'y' is pronounced 'oo' as in 'book' or 'cook', so it does sound Monkey, you're right. The rest of it is as written.
