Which is the correct way to pronounce it? I find myself saying both at different times. Generally nyew when I'm speaking slowly and carefully and noo when I'm more lazy with my speech.

But then, I am from Kentucky. :) |

I think nyew might slip in if I'm speaking quickly.

Brian, you're so Jersey, you crack me up.
That's a compliment.
But everyone says nyew. Or ought to. Unless they're from New Jersey.

How about "tuesday"? As in: twosday vs. tyoosday?
I say twosday, because I'm a peasant.

I've had people make fun of me for pronouncing it properly (aka: tyoosday)... of course, that was just a cover for deep-seated attraction.

I was thinking that "deep-seated" was not the word you were looking for here (perhaps "deep-seeded"), so I googled it to be sure. The first result is.... creepy. Check it out.
PS I guess you usage is fine. Pfff... |

One of my fondest memories of Boston as a kid is searching for the Boston Garden (home of the Celtics!) and asking a local where the Garden is. His you reply? "OH THE GAH-DEN? IT'S JUST AROUND THE COH-NAH!" It was great. Also, being inside the Garden before they tore it down and getting to touch the the famous parquet was amazing. |

What kind of phone has that many buttons? I suppose, one could say, converselye, what sort of typewriter has so few buttons. I'll just bow out of this one, you two fight out. meep.
