| yeah, that irked me too...true that Chris Rock is not on an acting level with Mr. Penn but Chris Rock is about 900% funnier than anything Sean Penn could be...I mean, could you imagine SP hosting the awards? lots of agenda, that speech of his (slurry and monotonous)--the crowd would probably harikari 45 minutes in...! |

Although I did find Sean Penn's behavior at the Academy Awards in poor taste, what I thought was even worse was the audience's reaction to Jamie Foxx's acceptance speech. I thought that was awful. Jamie was up there, pouring his heart out for the entire world, with a touching anecdote in tribute to his dead grandmother, he's crying, and the crowd is laughing. Maybe I just interpreted his speech wrong, but I thought that the crowd's reaction to what was a very serious moment was totally inappapropriate. They were laughing, and I'm sure it wasn't malicious, and I'm sure they didn't intend to make light, but I just think they acted in a very poor manner.
Are you honest when no one's looking? Can you summon honey from a telephone? They sat there with their hooks in the water and their mustaches caked with airplane glue. |

Yup, I didn't like that either...it seemed that when he was really emoting, the crowd was politely embarrassed to have him up there...oh man, here's the cousin noone talks about who just wondered into the cocktail party and wet his pants or something.
I also didn't like H.Swank's acceptance speech...or her dress. I didn't like the antonio banderas song or set. I didn't like the counting crows thing. I didn't like star jones.
i liked rick rubin's suit, though. I liked clint eastwood's speeches. i liked jamie foxx's...he was good. i liked, mostly, chris rock's take on the oscars though i think he had a few too many black jokes. not that they weren't funny, there were just a LOT of 'em. oh, i didn't like prince's suit. i liked natalie portman's dress, allright! there you have it...toba's take on the awacamy adrawers. |
