Are the tabs on this site OK on this one?
I mean, the main guitar part, played by Frank. I can't make it sound the right way, but maybe it's because I'm a horrible player.

it seems okay, but the last few flicks vary from version to version. here's another:
“Main Guitar Part”
D F# D
E-------2-x-----------2--------|-------2-x----------------2----
B--3----3-x---3--3-------3--3--|--2----2-x--2-------2--2-------
G--2h4--------2--2h4-----4--2--|--2h3-------2--2h3-----3-------
D------------------------------|-------------------------------
A------------------------------|-------------------------------
E------------------------------|-------------------------------
its easier to play if you use your index finger to cover the bottom 3 strings at the second fret (all the time), middle finger to complete the d shape flicks (3rd fret-b string), and then your ring finger to do all the other flicks.
hope that's not too confusing! |

Use your ring finger to hammer on for the first bar, then your middle finger for bar 2, and back to ring finger for bars 3 and 4. The mutes come from lifting your hand slightly off the strings (called a "fretboard mute", strangely enough) before striking the strings. Gives you a kinda clicky sound, ala Smells Like Teen Spirit. Use neck and bridge single coils together for the perfect sound!

I've been watching Frank play live, and he seems to play it around the 7th - 9th fret or so.
I can't figure out how he's playing. I want to know so maybe it'll sound better playing it another way. I like my options. Anyone know how he plays it live? |

the only time i've seem him play it live is during the gig on the dvd and he is definitely playing it more or less how that tab describes (so 2nd-4th frets) |

Yeah, their reunion tour. Great show...if you haven't seen it, I suggest you download it off of Easytree or trade someone for it. Good stuff...although I want the unedited concert. The program that runs it is only one hour, and they played a full hour and a half set list. Oh well. Anyway, enough off topic...:p |
