What the hell is this all about?
I read a couple articles and they make it sound very scary.
Like Hitler's SA scary.

It may sound naive, but I just can't understand how things like this aren't front page news. I read about a couple people from the CIA and the Pentagon had no idea that this had even taken place.

Yeah, I hear ya. I heard about this listening to the liberal radio network "Air America". There was later a brief mention of it in the news, but not anything significant.
Basically, ever since the National Security Act, there is nothing we can do to enact any checks or balances on behavior like this. It's the ultimate legal loophole - a huge black hole where anything can be deemed of national security interest and therefore kept completely secret and removed from the controls of the US Constitution, Congress, or the public eye.
Does Canada have a national security act-type law? |

I saw a tiny article by fluke on something like page 42 of the local paper.
I don't think we have anything like that.
I do know we have an anti-terrorism act that includes the Security of Information Act and some other laws but they don't seem anything like that.
Where's erebus?
