Since we're here on old bands, who resisted to Rattlesnakes?

This one is a gift for Kathryn.

How did you know?!

You've got perfect skin, that's how!

I love love love these guys. So romantic, so cool.

Forest fire? I dare you to find a more romantic song.

But are we pathetic, are we just old people musing about
old bands? I feel droopy thinking that that's the case.

How can you forget about our secrets sweet Kathryn?
Don't you know that I've seen him live when I was 14?
And we're not pathetic, we just have extremly good taste!

OK, Rita, you're starting to freak me out a little. First The The, then Love and Rockets. Now Lloyd Cole. Rattlesnakes was amazing and one of my favorite albums for years, but I loved Easy Pieces more for some reason-just personal preference I guess (Pretty Gone, Cut Me Down, and Why I love Country Music...great!). I met Lloyd Cole and Neil Clark (guitar) at a fast food taco place here in Dallas the afternoon of their show. Talk about weird to see them there. Of course, I got close to them and could think of nothing to say except, "Uh, can you sign my cd?". What a distinctive voice...you either loved it or hated it, but in mid 80's, they made me imagine all the cool stuff I thought must be going on in England.

So Superabounder, I'll think of another just to see if I can freak you out completly! That is good to know, someone that went through some of the same bands. And Cut me down was such a beautiful song!
Did he signed your CD?

Yes, they both signed the cd liner notes and I've still got it. Did you like Mainstream? I also enjoyed it as well as a few of his solo albums, but I didn't like the solos as much as the Commotions stuff. The first songs I ever heard by Lloyd were live versions of Speedboat and 2CV I think that my friend had that were great, but I don't have the cassette anymore. (oh crap, we ARE old-cassette! )

Superabounder, that's gotta be the coolest I-met-a-cool-musician
stories. At taco joint in Texas? I am so jealous!
