I'm reading a book about natural cures and he mentions that herpes can be cured with a particualr herb that you would drink in tea form for thirty days. It's a very good book so far. The FDA and the FTC are like gangster thugs for the pharmaceutical industries. They want us sick people.

Well, I'm not, although I have gotten cold sores in the past. (not on my genitals thankfully). I've been taking lysine a couple times a week and it's worked great. I think it's been close to three years without a cold sore. If there is a way to eliminate the virus, that would be great though. But anyway that was just something mentioned in the book he hasn't gotten into what herb it is. I'm not sure if he can with out the FTC abd FDA coming down on him.

being out in the sun can cause outbreaks too. i have cold sores (have since i was a kid) and i've been taking lysine and it seems to work great.

i'm so proud of myself for turning this thread into a herpes discussion forum.
i used to have a friend who got herpes from the very first guy she slept with. she was in total denial, and went about spreading it around town. everytime she would sleep with a new guy, a few weeks later, she'd call him up and accuse him of giving her herpes. i never figured out if it was some weird head game she was playing on them so that they wouldn't get mad at her for giving them herpes, of if she was just totally nuts. i called the health department and reported her and that was the end of that friendship.

a friend of mine had to go to hospital because of a stomach ulcer and when i went to visit her she was telling me what was wrong with the other people on the ward, right at the end of the ward was this pale looking girl who'd got a nasty dose of herpes from her bf going down on her when he had a cold sore (or so she says....)
I always laugh when I see L-Lysine.. I'd tell you why but it's a molecular biology thing...

From what I remember, L-Lysine helps in "rebuilding damaged tissue"...so it doesn't really have anything to do with the virus, it just makes the effects of it seem less severe...kinda helps your body to cleanup after the virus does its damage.

I read some stat here that said almost 40% of the university students here have some sort of std with this one being the most common. Good Lord! The scary thing was that most of them didn't even know they had it because alot of the time it presents no symptoms.
