With your music, your school, your work, your family, with where you live, etc? Do you have a long-term plan or big dream?

i'm sorry, this is a good topic.
um.. aside from 100,000,000 posts i hope to be a homeowner at that point. which, in the area i live, is an ambitious task.
i also hope to become a filmmaking mogul by that point. and then retire.

Did you say 100,000,000 posts? That's how many US dollars you will be need to buy a closet in the greater LA area in five years. Not to be negative or anything.
KOK, won't you have some, um, problems if you are living with a male Sasquatch. What if he thinks you are cute and makes a move on you?
In five years, I will be spending lots and lots of time going to lots and lots of Catholics shows!

i'd like to be financially stable, in a good relationship with someone i care about and that cares about me, own of a home with a working roof and walls, and have a job that doesn't drive me insane each and every day. so basically what i'm saying is that i'd like to be in a place that's the exact opposite of where i am now.
is that too much to ask?

No it is not too much to ask for. Perhaps you should move far from where you are now and get a different job?

kathryn, it doesn't snow here. do you understand? we got a quarter of an inch in 1972 and there was practically rioting in the streets. today when i woke up it was freezing cold, and do you know what the temperature was? 64 degrees. i can't ever move away, i'm built for warm weather.
but you may be onto something with the new job business.

I heard someplace that California is as warm as Florida. People there are also stunned into stupidity whenever the temp drops below 72 degrees.

I live in central California and will probably never move (from this computer chair). That's not true. I'm working out with the tunes cranked as we speak.

it's funny you mention that because earlier i got an email from my great-uncle adolf, who lives in california. hopefully he won't mind being quoted here:
> i totally agree about 70 degrees by the way. i hate it when it's cold > out (like, say 60 degrees) and i'll say "it's cold" and someone from > the East coast or up north says "COLD? this isn't COLD!!!!" .. it > never fails. . > sons of bitches
clearly floridians and californians are weather kindred spirits. i could never afford to live in california, never mind the fact that the whole state could drop off into the ocean at any second. but thanks for the suggestion. i hear it's quite warm in cuba.

Not me, but I say stuff like that all the time. These Californians crack me up. As soon as it drops below 68 they start showing up in stuff we wear during blizzards in New England.

To stop laughing at floop and KoK's posts so much. Especially if floop reaches 100,000,000. It will kill me.
Apart from that though, I would like to be touring with the Pixies. Sharing a bunk/hotel rooms with Kim.
To be more realistic though, to be in a loving relationship is what I dream of.

I wish to have already find the land that i'm looking for, to build my house and to be living there in five years, I also wish to be able to see Frank Black again!

In five years? I don't really care what I'll be doing professionally. I'd be fine continuing on as I am now.
Seems I'm losing interest in furthering the career.

Have you noticed that floop and dayanara are starting to use the exact same grammatical and typing style on this forum? Spooky.
I guess I'd like to be married in five years time, which is a bit of a stretch from the current situation.

Five years time I might have just finished the various degrees and be thinking about getting an actual job. I'd like to be settled but am not optimistic about this.

Showing and selling my artwork for more than it takes to make it. Or at all really. Having friends again. Supporting SpudBoy on his tours. Having forgiven my mom and estranged stepmother. Being much more travelled. Having learned at least 3 more languages. Having meditated every day for 5 years. Being wiser and kinder.
Thank you kathryn, that helped more than I expected.

I would love to be making a living as a writer and I hope I will be in love and on my way to having a family.
Wow. I better get busy!

You're welcome, Apl. It's strange. I can't think of a damned thing I want to be different for me in five years. I would like to continue being healthy and I would seriously like to be seeing the Catholics, but there isn't anything major that I'd like. Other than to see Floop and Dayanara marry.

It's a good thing to think about. Because otherwise TIME just goes by and before you know it, BOOM, it is five years later and you don't know how you got there.
Anyway, I can totally get behind your Catholics idea. How can we make that come true?

To be celebrating the fact that somehow Hillary is not president. Incidentally, the recent rise of the Kennedy-Boxer-Dean faction of the dem party is all a calculated plan to make Hillary appear more moderate. You heard it here first. And, yes, all I think about is politics. |
