That's too bad because I would think the main reason the response to it was less was simply that most in the audience weren't familiar with it much if at all. Maybe Kim is insecure about it because of the contrast with the older Frank material, but I don't think the crowd found it inferior, just unfamiliar.
I may have been reading into it too much, but I infered from what Frank was telling us that brock_disaster posted that it was much like they wanted to but on a good show and please the crowd.
I do agree with Erebus that part of the main reason why Bam Thowk wasn't very well known is that they didn't play Bam Thowk live.
Many fans I talked to at the shows were so suprised and psyched to find out they could download Bam Thowk on itunes.
Bam Thwok gets a lot of hate on these boards but I think it's actually a pretty decent song. I don't think anybody should've expected their very first song after 12 years or so to be the next Here Comes Your Man, Where Is My Mind or Velouria.
Did they ever play Ain't That Pretty At All live? I like that better than Bam Thwok but Bam Thwok is still pretty good for a first new effort.
