No, not everyone, hence the "most" in the first post. Not even I was ever stupid enough to look down on everyone. |

Erebus, the key is to post a cartoon semblance of yourself. Like my guy with the cape and moustache. Then at last you will be free as you can post this everytime the topic comes up.

You know what, having now seen a few pictures of Dean, I have no idea where that comparison comes from. He looks nothing like him.

Good idea Dean. In lieu of a cartoon, just think Rasputin. |

well as soon as he posts his picture we'll know if he has a "forum asshole" crown on or not.
do I need to add a smiley thing to this? I'd rather not. I don't like them.

No smiley required. And you did not offend in the least on those other occasions where you asked whether you had offended but I deigned not to answer. |

I see I am going to have to try harder.
I thank you for freeing my mind of this burden of perceived offence, maybe now, at long last, I can once again sleep at night!

um, c.o.f., I've been living in nyc for almost a year, and i've noticed that too. people do make eye contact. it makes me comfortable. i lived in l.a., where people seem too uncomfortable to make eye contact, or too caught up in their own thing. riding on the subway and checking each other out, whether it's someone hot or not, is just fun. most of the time I bring something to read, but sometimes I just like to look at people. when I pass by people on the sidewalk, if it's not crowded and I'm clearly coming upon another lone person, I do make eye contact. I think it's rude not to. sometimes I say hi too. I've done this everywhere I've lived. |

Some consider it rude the other way round. Funny how something like this can throw up such varied opinions. No wonder so many people in the world don't get on.

I agree, it is a delicate issue. At topless bars it is always a little disconcerting. I mean, the women from the city usually prefer you look at them right in the eyes or at the "other" eyes if you know what I mean. |

I am not sure which question to ask first?
You've been to Hooters?
or
They have Hooters in the UK? (That is where you live, right, Miss Kittie?)

I've been to a topless bar. The roof blew off during a hurricane, and nobody ever bothered to replace it.

it's good to see that VoVat magic in action...
Yes Kathryn, they do (or used to) have hooters in the UK, there was one on the way to my favourite alt-pub and I used to go past it every wednesday and friday, and one night I was a bit early to meet my friends and thought what the hey! I was quite young at the time.

But if I AM the magician, shouldn't I already KNOW my secrets? Or are they so secret that even I don't know them?

hmm. I used to have a real problem with eye contact.
Im nto sure what it was, but i tend to express my emotions very stongly and clearly through my eyes, with out even knowing..and so when i was doing the whole teenage angst thingabout 5 years ago, people would say they were too intimidated to look at me in the eyes, because i scared them! Used to really annoy me, cos i want peopel to look me in the eyes when im speaking to them!
Fortunately thats undercontrol now. so all is good.
