The Station Agent.
This film came to the UK and did nothing ...i doubt it had any more success in the US but i'd like to recommend this film to you all, it's great.

Yes i totally agree with you speedy m.
It managed to avoid cliche as well which is a trap it could easily have fallen into.

I think I go into most movies expecting something to happen. You know, someone gets murdered, or kidnapped, or cheated on, or "THE PRESIDENTS DAUGHTER IS MISSING!", or something, but this movie... it's just a bit life. Here's some people, and they're dealing with very real things in their own very real ways, and they're not perfect, but not flawed for the sake of a good plot point. It's almost like reality tv in way, except the characters are interesting, intelligent, and have compassion for one another. I was worried it would succumb to cliche in the bar scene, but even that difficult scene was handled wonderfully. It certainly is a little gem. That movie made me want to hug people and love life. |

I think you expressed the beauty of the film very well.

I enjoyed this one, too. Speedy summed it up pretty well.

That sounds like Lost In Translation, but a lot of people here don't like that.

I disliked lost in translation but the station agent is just a really nice inoffensive movie. Just nice.

Well you heard right.
How's that for an equally pointless, unhelpful, uninteresting addition to the conversation?
