Congrads. My son is named Jack also. Actually, John, but we call him Jack.
My advice: forget about sleep. You'll finally get to sleep a full night at some point before the end of 2005, but for now, just forget about it. Just sleep when the baby sleeps. You'll get through it.
But again, congratulations to the both of you. You'll soon learn (if you haven't already) that Jack will be your greatest acomplishment. |

The news is in....no new realeases from the Pixies as of yet (other than those found on itunes of course), but we have been blessed with an early release from the man himself, Charles Thompson!!

If you are anything like me, you will find that babies do not come with any type of instruction manual, and this will lead to acute stress with Mom...Just take comfort in knowing that kids are pretty resilient and crying is a form of expression with nothing else available. My advice - Be available, help with what you can, and don't make a move in the middle of the night when he cries. Follow your heart, you will always be a giant and a hero in his eyes. Have fun with it!
My kids are 9 and 10, currently learning drums and guitar, my son and I are playing "holiday song", and he is interested in "broken face", pops the CD in the car, all the time. Kids will teach you about your childhood, it is like a replay of your early life.
I live in DuPont WA, I am in Portland all the time, would love to rap some time. Ever been to the Candlelight on Lincoln (south side of downtown? Good music, wild cast of characters (ages 18-80), check it out and let me know, we could rap about children. I've been a big fan of your music since 1992. |

Hey Pops, So how's the family?
Tell us, if you would, how did you come-up with "Jack" and "Errol"?
Are they family names?
My son has my middle name, Ray, and my daughter is named after my grandmother, Maggie. I wanted her name to be Maggie Ray, but my Wife had another opinion. We agreed on Maggie Rebecca. Rebecca is my Wife's mother's name. (I still prefer Maggie Ray).
