ok so i heard revolution on the white album, but the other day i heard a different version on the radion. it was faster and more electric than the one on the white ablum. does anyone know when this was recorded and how i could possibly get a copy of it? ive checked soulseek, but i keep getting the white album version.

its the single version of revolution - you can currently find it on the "past masters vol. 2" compilation - i believe it was the A-side to Lady Madonna, but i could be totally wrong

i *think* it was the A-side to 'hey jude', and the reason it was re-recorded to rock more was because someone in the band didn't want two ballad-y songs released on the same single. i could be way off base though.

I saw a live version of this track as performed on Top Of The Pops once - to me, it sounded more like the Stooges than the Beatles.

Brian, can we still talk about "B" sides?

Strawberry fields - Penny Lane
Yellow submarine - Eleanor Rigby
Hello Goodbye - I am the Walrus
Hey Jude - Revolution
Something - Come Together
we can work it out - Day Tripper
...
