So, yeah, anyone know the best spot on the windshield to mount one? Aside from that, general use tips?

My ex had one of those damn things. It went off every 10 seconds or so, we just learned to tune it out. I don't think it matters where on the dash you mount it, but it will only help you if you're in traffic.

I used to have one years ago, when I was too young to drive, oddly enough. I got it at a yard sale and was fascinated by what it did. That one went off all the time, the one I just got is pretty accurate compared to that one. But what do you mean re: in traffic? I'm assuming to prevent turkey-shots?

My understanding is that if you're out in the open, by the time the radar detector alarms the cops already have you, whereas in traffic the signal could be bouncing off other cars and you still have time to slow down.

I believe I've heard that about lidar, which makes a jammer appealing, but not about radar.
