Just had to vent--I saw the Pixies Thursday, and it was as everyone knows by now, amazing, especially the screaming Frank. So, tonight I got off work late and went to see about a scalped ticket. I got one alright, and the price and look of it were legit. Nope. Turned away at the door. I am indeed a sucker. Nevertheless, I have to say, it's the best concert (tgursday) I have seen since Jane's Addiction in 1991, that's how old I am. The cautionary tale, buy ahead, even if it costs more. I'm less angry about the money lost than not having the chance to see them again.

[EDIT - Moved. That's really too bad, gnyc. I saw some fakes and that's really lame.] |

It kind of sucks that they just scan the barcode on the tickets now, instead of tearing off the end. How hard is it to scan, then tear? I would prevent things like this happening... |

Agree. Tear and scan. While the whole ticket makes a better memento, this kind of stuff wouldn't happen.
Just a little off topic ... When Prodigy first came around I bought two tickets. The show was then postponed for some reason and when it was rescheduled, my friend couldn't come with me. So, I sold the other ticket for face value to some girl standing outside. Now, this is a rescheduled show and the club was honoring the original tickets. So the girl hands me the money, takes about two steps away, and then comes barreling back at me. "HEY !!! THIS TICKET IS FOR A SHOW TWO MONTHS AGO!!! WHAT THE FUCK YOU TRYING TO DO?!?!?" I’m trying to explain that this show had been rescheduled (she apparently wasn’t aware of this) and that these were tickets for the original show and are going to be honored. I can’t get this through her head and she’s trying to reach into my pocket for her money. I’m expecting a cop to come up at any moment and I’m going to get in trouble for scalping (even though I was selling at face value). I finally convince her to come into the show with me. If the bouncer doesn’t accept her ticket, then I will give her money back. Finally, we get inside and she was calmed down. But it was all kind of amusing.
