This is so sad it's funny. Also, I'd like to point out that Carolyn Parrish does not represent this country nor its rich sense of humour. Though she was on This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

That's Ann Coulter and she is notorious for spewing bullshit like that. She says crap like that just to get a reaction. Do a google search for her name to see what I mean. That's probably part of it, although I'm sure that's more from the Canadian side. Americans who attack Canada probably do so because: 1) it's a convenient target, being all close by and everything, and 2) the stereotype seems to be that Canada is more laid-back and liberal than the United States (not that that's necessarily true), which pisses off busybody right-wingers. There might be more to it than that, though.
