My Aunt used to be. Back in the seventies she would take anything she could get her hands on. Qualudes, Valium, uppers, downers, Four way window pane, weed, hash, tequila. She was always medicated. I don't recommend it for anyone. Are you having troubles at home? You really should look into some alternative / "new age" methods of relaxation. Medication is really not the answer.
I hope this helps

I used to meditate and do yoga several times a week. Now I find that a glass of red wine does the trick. Frank does know what he's talking (well, singing) about in that New House Of The Pope song of his.

Seriously, just use your bullshit detector. There are a lot of flaky people who claim to be meditation experts/gurus. Just go with someone who seems on the up and up.

Now Kathryn likes her red wine
She likes the mini skirt
She digs high heels
and looks boys steal
from this sexy high class flirt

Now Kathryn knows a good time
her taste is excellent
Knocking martinis back
To a little frank black
This girl is heaven sent

Now Kathryn is a diva
A woman in control
Good looks that pain
And massive brain
A man would sell his soul

Now Kathryn she is gorgeous
The pictures I have seen
Those pouting lips
And slinky hips
Fulfill the wildest dream

Now Kathryn she is classy
She's not your common lass
So sharp in wit
This little Brit
Admires this hot piece of ....

That fabulous little ode to little old me should end with the
word "ups", right?

You can't see me, Miss Teresa, but I am blushing here in America in my, yes, how did you know, very short mini skirt. (Oh, yeah, the what are you wearing thread.)

The cool and casual Kathryn
On her red wine she sups
She gets no thrills
From popping pills
No need to take those Ups

Kathryn is a sweetheart
Her company would please
Her every word
Begs to be heard
No need for drugs to ease

While I am flattered, Tre, I must point out that the many people who have done tons of drugs with me would disagree with your last few lines.

That said, we are doing a lousy job of helping our fellow forum member with his quest for more info about meditation.

Again, I suggest red wine. Lots of it.

I am not big into it... I should be... but I like it. It is a great way to relax. Also, I have also heard that it is almost as restful as sleep.

Not me, I used to do yoga, but not anymore...but my husband does it everyday...and he enjoys it a lot, because sometimes he wakes up very early just to do it, and he never misses heīs night meditation.
I meditate when I listen to music, it makes me float...so itīs my way of doing it!

...Love, love, ain't this enough
Pushing around
To find little comfort in words
But words
Well they cannot love
Don't waste them like that
Cus they'll bruise you more

Right on, maaaan. Yeah, I meditate to harness the energy of the collective everything. I place crystals on the places on my body which receive and conduct the most energy and send transmissions to all the other Earth Children that they should be accepting of everything... except they shouldn't accept music that's not reggae, bluegrass or jam band and should shun people who don't eat organic food, plus people should NEVER cut any hair on their body. There are many other standards that people need to fall into, but those are some of the basics. But yeeeeah, man, far out, accept everthing except...

Meditation? You mean sitting quietly? Yeah as long as I can remember.

--

Moving from the clown to the jester will mean moving from similar to same, from alike to identical, from comparable to analogous. Though applied differently, the colours used on one can be used on another, and a couple of changes of costume will rapidly transform the jester into a clown and the clown into a jester. Strictly speaking, they almost duplicate each other as regards clothes and function, the only difference between them, from a social point of view, is that clowns do not usually visit the palaces of kings.

Balls to all that hippy shit. Yoga and meditation (don't really do any meditation apart from when I practise Yoga) really help clear out all the stupid noise from my head. And you can just do the physical stuff if you like, and get loads of benefits from it. Seriously. It's the bollocks. You end up all stretchy. And stuff.
