Anyone know of any good, inexpensive hotels (around $100) in New York City? A friend and I are gonna stay overnight Saturday. Know of good places to book them?

I guess I just wasn't made for these times.

Try doing a search on Expedia.com. There are a lot of options. Luckily I have two friends there, so I don't often have to stay in a hotel but I have done it before. I can't remember the name of the place I stayed though, sorry!

Spooky. Right now I'm listening to NYC by Interpol.

there's Warhol's everywhere in the place. Last time I was there the room I was in had a gigantic picture of pablo picasso on the wall, which worked cause I was listening to a lot of Modern Lovers at the time.

Its right next to the museum of sex and it has a big red velvety bar and an old manual cage evevator that you work with the level, so that's kind of cool.

Cuz everyone's your friend in New York City
And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is -- you and me

There is a bench I pass by everyday while walking to work from the train station that is available. Dress warm.

Jim,
There is a place in Soho that is super cheap. I can't think of the name though. It's somehing with a "P" I think. It used to be a hostel. The bathrooms are in the hallway. There a lot of young people there (backpackers). It's real funky. "The presidential", "The providence" something like that. If you go to a book store and look in a "Let's Go America" guide it will be in there. Incredilbly narrow rooms. I think it was like $57.00 for me and my girlfriend at the time. Make sure you remove the bedspread though, because that was also real funky.
