As I have said, the thoughts of the left cannot exist outside the echo chambers they create for themselves. The bottom line is, the whole premise of the left has been proven a lie. That is that GWB and his policies are illegitimate and not supported by the electorate.
MORE votes than any other person in the history of the US. Clintoon never got over 50%, let alone the numbers Bush pulled. And not just Bush, the Republican approach to leadership was validated with expanding control of both houses of congress. The first time since McKinley that an incumbent was reelected AND his congressional margins improved at the same time. Its a little thing called a mandate...

You know what, I think we need to change the voting system. I think there needs to be a mandatory IQ test. If you don't score above a certain point, your vote doesn't count at all (somewhere near the mid/low range). If you score above a certain (high range), your vote counts double. This would disprove Dallas's pig-headed anti-liberal sentiments, because I believe we harbor some of the most intelligent and honest human beings in this world.
Bush wouldn't stand a chance if this system were put into place. Look at all the states he won. All the stereotypical redneck trash states.

When I went to vote, I stood in line behind 5 Hatian women. They got up to the machines, stood there staring at them, completely dumbfounded, for the entire time I was in the building. Then they started whispering to eachother, asking who to vote for. Apparently, they thought they were just voting for the president and that was it. So after question #1, they had no idea what to do, although I'm sure that didn't stop them from "christmas treeing" the rest of their ballots and fucking up things for us locally. Pissed me off for the rest of the day to think that their votes outweigh mine but they had never even HEARD of the stuff they were voting on.

Great point, if not for the fact that the people the US has been liberating the last decade are all muslims, and mostly arabs. But, seriously, you almost had a point.
The answer to the rest of your questions is simple. Because there are religious extremists who hate all things modern. They recognize freedom and democracy as the greatest threat to their vision of a world dominated by islam that subjigates women and glorifies death.
Its the same reason that YOU euro's have huge security lines/checks at your airports. Its why you have increased security at your train stations and borders. You really should have picked up on this before now.
