no I believe not (anymore) Frank was raised religious though he went to summercamps (where he was introduced to Larry Norman) In the pixies days he said (in a dutch interview) that the elements were his religion
the influence of religion can be found in franks work he wrote lot's of lyrics about the old testament

as billgoodman corectly said,
frank was raised very religious.....untill he found out about rock n' roll and girls (he said something along those lines in an interview)
but the title for the ep "come on pilgrim" was taken from the lyrics of "levitate me" if i remember correctly....some of which he wrote during a summer-camp or infulenced by something he saw at summer-camp, ..... something like that

I'll tell you what, Black is nothing else but an Illuminati who is taking over our minds through strangely catchy songs... He had an influence on most of our lives, we think it's fine, great, it's only rock'n roll... There is something evil going on and I'm half joking... Even HIM told that records were not innocent pieces of plastic... No... to quote David Thomas (another member of a secret society, and I have proofs), We are still living in a voodoo age. Remember this, we are under influence!!! Nothing happens by chance...
Watch Out I wish I were kidding...

But "Illuminati" comes from a word for "light," and since Frank is "Black," does that mean he's bringing black light to the world?

Looks to me like someone had a lot of time on their hands. The price is marked down from "Your Soul" to "13 Virgins?" I'll admit, though, it took me a few minutes to catch on. |

love that kim deal website, she always wanted to be a writer. back in the early nineties, mine friends and mine self while listening to doolittle, added up 555, 666, and 777. the total was 1998!!! which we convinced ourselves would be the end of the world or at least the year that would usher in the Frank Black age. to my biblical horror, nothing happened... or what???

i remember reading somewhere that some of his lyrics came from "hitting puberty and gaining feelings towards women all while being told hes going to hell for those exact things"
no suprise to me actually. deals book actually appears to be one on the same, except using shock words to describe her beliefs ie "satanism" when in actuality the book is merely about beliefs against the common fundamentalist christian churches |

Yeah, for some reason I didn't catch on when I saw the price. Heck, I didn't even catch on when I saw that it would be delivered by "little demon monkeys."
I finally caught on when I was reading one of the customer reviews and it mentioned "his theory of magic." It was like, "A-ha! Even if I get those 13 virgins together, the little demon monkeys will bring me a book that's written by a man! Kim's not a man, so this is a joke!" |
