He's been all over this thing. He's an American journalist who moved to England because he was tired of the US press censoring his articles.

Do you guys think we will have an actual elected president by Mid January when the new president would take office. I hope mid January if the right date on that. I feel sure there will be multiple re-counts and at least one law suit.

hahaha I saw the program on this the other day
Why not trust the BBC more than any other media machine? Is it just because you don't like what they have to say?
I mean I hate to tell you this but most if not all press over here is not very pro-America, I was talking the other day about this amazing trailer I saw for a series on Channel 4, graphic in it's horribleness but so very clever... I'll see if I can dig it out. You're going to hate it. There's a lot of TV coverage at the moment on the up-coming election over here and none of it flattering, the BBC did some poll or other accross various countries and found 2/3 of people DID NOT hate america but a staggering amount (I forget exactly - insomnia addled my brain)hated Bush. Not surprising at all.

The insinuation if not accusation is that significant numbers of people, especially the black voters will be challenged when they try to vote because their vote will be the wrong one. There was waffle about a list too, I have to say I wasn't watching it all that closely. It was an interesting program, and it's bias was obvious but show me one that isn't.

I saw the program guy and that video clip is a no worky I'm afraid dude.

I do know what it's about but I don't know enough on the way things work to comment, and to be honest it's confusing for me because that level of weirdness just wouldn't happen here I think, to me it appears lunacy and if it weren't for previous well documented debacles I would think it a made up story.

[[edit] I mostly read these threads by the way to try and figure out by gleaning what I can from posters how it all works, so If I ask dumb questions or say things that seem odd it's because I'm a learner..]

Hey Tre, you're a leftie: no learning allowed. ; -)

And in an allegedly color-blind society, justice regarding voter registration fraud appies to everyone, even black people. To think otherwise would be, well, discriminatory.

well, the program made the point that this caging list contained predominantly the names of black voters, this was cried off saying there had been a big registration drive so of course it'd be more likely new voters would have mistakes in details over those on the roll for years, excuses over excuses over excuses, this was why I bought up the racial issue more so than anything else. Dude it was the program, man I hate TV.

Hey erebus how's your frown lines doing? I hope you're taking care of your forehead. I'm 24 today dontyouknow (HINT)

It seems a well documented fact that in 2000 in Florida thousands of potential voters were falsely classified as felons by ChoicePoint, and that the majority of them were black. This in a state where 93% of the black vote went to Gore. That accounts for thousands of votes for Gore that never made it to the recount. Fuck the recount, that had nothing to do with anything. The real theivery happened before the votes were cast.

this is cool KOK. This reminds me somewhat of watching this stand up comedy / magic show last night on pay per view cable ... called the Patiot Act. I hadn't heard about it but they were saying how the two biggest companies that make the electronic voting machines are supporting bush. One, the CEO of the Ohio company that makes these machines... has promiesed Bush personally in writing that he will deliver a win in Ohio for bush.

Anyway, KOK I think you would like this stand up comic/magic show thing.

More good news for Dem fraudsters. Hey, if you don't like a law, find a judge.

http://www.instapundit.com/

THE CHALLENGERS CHALLENGED: Two federal judges have ruled that parties may not have challengers at the polls in Ohio.

This is a unliateral victory for the Democrats. As I've said before, I don't see any reason to prefer maximising turnout, at the expense of allowing fraud, any more than I think we should prefer to root out every last case of fraud, at the expense of deterring legal voters. The law ought to try to strike a balance, but for reasons I don't understand, we've decided to max out turnout even though this means allowing quite a bit of fraud. Since what scant evidence we have indicates that dead, canine, and imaginary voters break heavily Democratic, this will hurt Bush on election day.

Rebuffing G.O.P., 2 Judges Bar Challengers at Polls in Ohio
By TERENCE NEILAN

In a double blow to the Republicans on the final day of campaigning in the presidential race, two federal judges today barred challengers representing any political party from polling places in Ohio during Tuesday's election.

United States District Judge Susan J. Dlott in Cincinnati found that the application of Ohio's statute allowing challengers at polling places was unconstitutional and that allowing any candidates other than election judges and other electors into the polling place would place "an undue burden upon voters" and impede their rights to vote. edit: sorry about the mega-link, giving us this wide page. what can I do to fix it?

"In a double blow to the Republicans" Translation: "In a double blow to the fascist pigs"
My goodness, I feel so sorry for the down and out corporations. I hope Halibuton (etc), can recover from such a devastating blow. Why do those nasty democrats insist on kicking the down and out?

I live in Florida, Palm Beach County, shamefully. The list of felons is a big whoopteedo down here right now. If we're both talking about the same thing, everyone on the list is a convicted felon, but they're supposed to have their voting rights restored. Thing is, blacks usually vote democrat, hispanics usually vote repubilican. Can you guess who's on the "allowed to vote" list? All the hispanics. The black felons have not had their voting rights restored as they're supposed to. We have a huge hispanic population down here, so that alone can swing the state.

On top of that, many of my friends sent away for absentee ballots. Everyone registered as a republican got them, but none of my friends registered as democrats got theirs. I guess that's what happens when your governor is the president's brother...
