I don't know what I'm going to do. I've been waiting for them to win a World Series since I was 7 years old (which was 1975) and now they're only one game away from doing it. But, for some reason (maybe because of the intense series with the Yankees, their domination of the Cardinals, or because I don't hate the Cardinals) I'm not feeling the excitement. I'm excited, but not as excited as I think I should be. It's been too easy. None of the games have I felt they were going to lose.
Maybe I need to get out of the house watch game 4 in a bar. Kick up the energy. How are the other Sox fans (or baseball fans) doing? |

Now you know how a winner feels.
That said, they are the Red Sox and it ain't over yet. Remember what happened in the ALCS or did you forget already.

the feeling here in boston is about the same. there is much more attention being paid to the team of course. to the long time fans i know there has been a bit of a let down. it is because the yankee series was/always is so crazy and the WS to this point has gone the sox way. that being said it still is exciting, but not so much as if the yankees could have been the WS opponent. to many of my friends beating the yankees in the ALCS was extremely important, maybe too much put onto a single non-WS win. now there is one more win to get and then we will see what kind excitement will be generated. |

This series is just after thought. The Yankees series was the emotional climax, this is just a wrap up job. Maybe if the cardinals had been up at any point during the series it would have some life, but the sox have just been a bulldozer. Try to enjoy the end of the curse. At least that taunting ends. |

Let's not forget a little matter about today's date. It was 18 years ago today. Oct 27 1986 that the METS beat the SOX in game seven. And tonight there is supposed to be a lunar eclipse.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Hold your breathe Boston.

It's raining here and the eclipse is supposed to start in 30 minutes. Boston is winning 3-0, I think we Red Sox fans finally have had our dreams come true. So what if it was somewhat of an anticlimatic world series. I'll be surprised if this series goes to 6, let alone 5.
And if you don't care about baseball, why post on a baseball thread?

Oh my lord, the dude from Creed is "singing" god-bless America, and it still sounds like a wannabe Pearl Jam song.

Yes. Red Sox win!!!!!! My dad is 63, and we've been waiting our whole lives for this. I'm glad my dad and I got to see this together, and I don't have to visit his grave and tell him about it.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Fuck the Yankees =)

Congratulations. This Cardinal fan is glad it's over, given my team hardly showed. Was quite difficult to watch. |

Yeah, but at least the Cardinals had a player named Pujols (pronounced Poo-holes). That supplied endless entertainment. He's a good ball player, too.

"Year Two Thousand" chants next season just won't sound as bad as "1918". I guess you Bosox fans have earned bragging rights, I'll take my lumps.

Who knows, you may have Pedro pitching for you next year with Beltran in centerfield (with Bernie finally sent to the glue factory). The Yankees would be wise to move ARod (The Mechanic- because he throws a wrench into every team) to SS and Jeter (Mr. Overrated) to CF.
But for now, the Sox win! I rewatched parts of game 4 of the ALCS last night. What a series.
One last thing, the Red Sox will get their rings and raise their pennant at the home opener against the Yankees next spring. I hope Varitek and Pedro are still on the Sox when that happens. |

The Yankees are now burdened with the Curse of A-Rod. The notion that it is a "curse" will become more apparent over the next few years. |
