I remember spending a whole afternoon trying to program my dad's brand new Texas Instrument calculator to play some game (probably something like artillery). Never worked.
I also remember having a cassette tape player for my Commodore 64 and spending Christmas afternoon trying to load some submarine game. Also never worked. The great thing back them was that you could see the code and try to fix bugs yourself. I once fixed my SSI Baseball game. {Seems like I'm trying to convince people that I'm 50 years old} |

While I'm not a big fan of Love's music, I'd say that, to an extent, she's a scapegoat for sexism in rock music.
Thank you, some support!

I guess I don't have anything to say about the Ashlee snafu that hasn't been said already, but yeah, the whole thing was laughably pathetic. Acid reflux, my ass. I think the whole reason Ashlee has a career is to make her sister sound good in comparison.
I don't really have an opinion on Courtney Love, and I never owned an Intellivision.
As for the animation thing, The Simpsons has been my favorite show for some time, and I have a particular fondness for Futurama. While it never quite lived up to The Simpsons in its prime, the sci-fi setting allowed for a lot of nerdy humor, which is something I could really appreciate. I like Family Guy too, but not as much as the other two. I can agree with some of the criticism people have given the show, but it has enough hilarious gags to let me overlook much of it. The characters certainly aren't as likeable or engaging as those in the two Groening shows, and there are quite a few references with no real parody (not that The Simpsons hasn't also been guilty of that at times), but I think that generally doesn't matter that much. Besides, how many other prime-time cartoons have made a Narnia reference?

I just saw this video from SNL and thought I'd post a link. It's also got a clip of Eminem on SNL, which is another blatant example of why lousy singers shouldn't perform in public. Funny how there's no break in the singing even when he stops to lick his lips...

But Eminem still wrote the song, didn't he?

Looking over a lot of old topics, I can say with certainty: Thank you, Steve. That, due to the fact that Fred apparently thought capricious, incredibly simple faux-metal licks that were sounding incredibly out of place within a relatively decent song was good enough to perform in front of ANYONE, induced much laughter. |

What the hell was he thinking? Then again, does he ever think at all?
