I'd like to start a big, fat rumor. This was posted over on the pixiesmusic forum (I can't figure out how to do the quote thing):

"Audio taping? I noticed a guy up front with a very nice handheld video recorder. i'd think he had to have band clearance for that kind of thing, maybe it's for a tv show or dvd or something. Anybody want to post the official setlist?"

"those guys are taping the entire tour. they're making a documentary, which they said would be out next summer. i asked them about it last night after having seen them taping the past few shows."

Those two paragraphs almost made me wet my pants. Anyone else with info about this? It sounds like must be officially licensed. I've also heard from several of my friends that there were people taping at the shows they went to. I didn't see anyone at Boca or Tampa. Hopefully this is true. Now if only we could get that Catholic's DVD everyone's been begging for...

Nope, they're from this week.

I remember hearing that a film crew was following Charles around LA before the tour even started, but nothing since then.

i am the writer of the second quote. after seeing the same guys tape in dallas and houston, i asked them what it was for in austin. the guy i talked to said they had been with them the whole tour. i didn't really ask that many details about it, so i can't give really give any other info.

I have it on good authority that the camera crew was indeed there doing a documentary on The Pixies. Actually, FB was spotted the next morning strolling in the Lower Haight with Eric Drew Feldman, trailed by the 3-crew documentary team. A strange sight indeed for that neck of the woods!

So did anyone see the opener Rykarda Parasol? Any good? What kind of music? I'm assuming they were handpicked by FB since he doesn't always have an opener.
