I bought this today the UNCUT magazine and I had a great surprise...the pixies will be on the next issue and I think it will be the cover of the magazine. It has a gret picture of them and it says something like "the band of the year". You should all check it out. http://www.uncut.net/

Yes, no Uncut mag in Armenia. Isn't that sad? But the food is great and it's good to be in a former Soviet republic. So much has changed for the better in recent years.

Has anyone picked up a copy yet? I called around but it looks like we can't get it over here, so I'm taking this opportunity to shamelessly beg for scans of the article.

I just bought it about an hour ago-Neil Young's on the cover-TWICE, actually, cos it's one of those choose-a-cover 'collectors'(ahem!!) thingies(There's also a choice of two cool CDs), but the Pixies article is the biggest I've ever seen! So that kinda makes up for it. To the news stands!!!!

I read it last night. The interview is with Joey and Frank, and unsurprisingly it's Frank doing most of the talking. Opens with an awesome rant from FB about people judging him based on baldness and weight, before settling into a faily detailed historical account. I don't think the hardcore fan would learn anything from it that they didn't know, mind.
Very positive review of FBF in there too, with a brief q&a with Frank about it. |

Yeah, it's a decent spread but I suppose nothing earth shattering. I was disappointed to see Neil Young on the cover, Uncut playing it safe as usual. It used to be a great mag but now it just seems to be about the stale, retrospective, historical minutiae of bands' careers, and it was probably just the Pixies' turn. BF's opening rant is indeed the most interesting part of the article. No doubt he'd be raging that writer Nick Hasted later describes him as having "the bald head and black fatigues of Brando's Colonel Kurtz"! BF also talks about the atmosphere at reunion gigs not being as loud and chaotic as first time round, more quiet and reverential, which is interesting. Reverence is certainly the key word I think. |

I think I´ll have to wait untill it arrives here, I hope it doesn´t take too long! I don´t learn much with some articles about the Pixies, sometimes they are always very similar, but I must have it!

Can anyone post scans? I'm too cheap to shell out $13 to get a copy off ebay.

Kim's not interviewed, and Uncut try and make an issue out of it.
It also tries to stoke up a 'Kim and Charles had a relationship' scandal. |

I'm having a strange problem. I found a few places that sell it, but they all still have November's issue on display. Considering the December issue went on sale November 4th, this seems to be a very bad sign. No one seems to know when they'll get it in. It must come over from England on a row boat.
