Can you write a novel in thirty days? That is the premise of National Novel Writing Month. 50,000 words in one month (Nov 1st to 30th)

http://www.nanowrimo.org

Blogger (http://www.blogger.com) has also set up an area where you write a novel via blog. It is a cool idea if you want to write something and work well with motivation from others.

Just wanted to share.

I think I've written close to 50,000 words just shitting around on the forum today. I could just compile my last 100 posts or so and slap the title "Entries of a Geekazoid" onto it and wallah!

On second chapter of third draft of mine after a year and it´s basically finished when it´s finished tho I´ll step up a few words per night to get into the spirit of things.

Nice how my novel writing topic turned into a bad spelling display. Viva, English!

Yet if you can say in 40,000 words what others need 50,000 words to say you're penalized! I fear the filler factor at work. There are numerous short novels that are wonderful pieces that wouldn't make that requirement. Sometimes silence and ambiguity are more powerful than the words themselves.
