Pyramids are featured in both bands' various artwork.....is RFTC giving a nod to RFTT or is it just outright stealing a band name? ....or am I missing what the term is in reference to? Anyone?

not too sure about this but i think that i read somewhere the band chose the name rocket from the crypt as a deliberate homage to the legendary band.

I believe it was an homage as well. I know the name itself is a good thing, Rocket from the Crypt. It has to do with escaping bad and evil things.

When Rocket From the Crypt formed, there was no Rocket From the Tombs album artwork.

The pyramid on Rocket From the Tombs' ROCKET REDUX refers to the pyramid on a dollar bill. "Hey, we're just doing this for the money."

...actually the pyramid on 'Rocket Redux' refers to just a pyramid. The dollar bill pyramid, has an eye on the apex....in one of the songs, he actually refers to emerging from a tomb as a Pharoah.

I guess we all got our own interpretation of these things, but it seems pretty clear cut to me. If you look closely at the pyramid on ROCKET REDUX, it's an exact reproduction of the pyramid on a dollar bill (with the pie pan UFO added). It's in a circle and it has the "Novus Ordo Seclorum" banner at the bottom and has "Rocket Redux" at the top in the same font as the little Latin thing above the pyramid on a dollar bill.
