In an interview granted to Rolling Stone (french version), Tom Waits declares that he appreciates Pixies but concerning the production of their future album, he acknowledges he was very often requested by many groups but was not always able to honour the requests...
Somebody knows Tom...

I don't know but Frank saying that he would like Tom Waits to produce Tom Waits saying that he would like to produce the Pixies and some rumours flying around I believe they came from Chickenwithtwoheads
So I say the new pixies album is already made and tom waits was on it either producing of playing

You'd think by now Frank would've called Tom to see where their schedules coincided, have they spoken or are they communicating through interviews? Whoever produces it'll be monumental, but with Tom it would really be exeptionally monumental,he's one of the great song and dance men of our time. Real Gone completely slays me. |

Actually, I'd be terribly surprised if the Pixies would have contacted Mr. Waits yet. In any interview the band, when asked about a new album, they say they're not really worrying about that yet, and haven't thought about it too much. That said, their schedule is still very open in the future after this tour, so trying to see when THEY would want to record, let alone whether or not it lines up with a potential producer, is something I don't think they'll be doing real soon. But yes, the prospects of a Waits produced Pixies album is a bliss I doubt I could handle. |
