Wow! The show was absolutely sublime! I don't know if it was just the fact that I was there, but the band sounded better than any of the bootlegs I've heard from this tour. They had so much energy and Frank's (and Kim's) vocals sounded incredible. I was able to stand up in the front, about fifteen feet from the stage, right in front of Joey, and I got several pictures, which I'll try to post as soon as I get them developed. Be warned, though, that I used a throwaway camera, so they aren't going to be very good. Anyways, fantastic show, fantastic sound, and I had a great time! Here's the setlist (Frank had it arranged by keys, and Kim was trying to figure out how it was arranged the whole time; it was kind of funny):
1. Subbacultcha 2. Vamos 3. Where is My Mind? 4. Cactus (played the way he plays it with the Catholics!) 5. Velouria 6. Wave of Mutilation 7. Debaser 8. I Bleed 9. Is She Weird 10. # 13 Baby 11. Hay 12. Caribou 13. Bone Machine 14. U-Mass 15. Gigantic 16. Gouge Away 17. Holiday Song 18. Broken Face 19. Crackity Jones 20. In Heaven 21. Mr. Grieves 22. Isla de Encanta 23. Head On 24. Nimrod's Son 25. Monkey Gone to Heaven 26. Here Comes Your Man 27. Tame
ENCORE 28. Planet of Sound
I was pleasently surprised by the opening band (The Thrills). I thought they were fantastic and put on a great show. I'm also going to the two shows in Atlanta tonight and tomorrow, so I should have setlists for those, too.

It was a really great show, I have to admit that it still feels somewhat like a dream. I loved the banter between Kim and Charles as to how the setlist was arranged. When Dave finally told her how it was done, she said, "You know i don't know the keys!!!"
The other thing that really tickled me, was the little girl that rushed the stage to hand Kim a party invitation, then ran off stage left trailing a hulking bouncer. She emerged a little while later still trailing said bouncer and a roadie as she crossed the stage and went out stage right. Histerical. |
