Thats pretty cool. 'Watch What You're Doing' is the mythical 18th Purple Tapes song right? I'd definitely like to hear that.
Ooh, though, what I'd have given to see Larry Norman and Frank doing the Catholics 'rock' version of Six-Sixty-Six...
How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

Yeah, WWYD is indeed supposed to be the famous 18th song recorded for the Purple Tapes - a kind of Holy Graal for us Pixies fans...

Has anybody heard it then? Or even owns it? Or is it more of a legend? |

That's great, Frank! :)
The biggest surprise of the night followed when Frank Black from the Pixies joined the band for "Watch What You're Doing."

I love that statement Larry makes about his dad and Elvis music. Larry: "I'm going to grow up and be a Christian rock music icon". Dad: "No son of mine will be playing that music"
Even the Christian rockers rage against the man. |

Christian rocker returns to Salem
Gospel music Hall-of-Famer Larry Norman will perform Saturday at Smith Auditorium at Willamette University.
Norman promises surprise guest performers. The last time Norman played Salem, he brought Pixies frontman Frank Black.
Norman's concert schedule has been cut back in recent years because of health problems.
Growing up, Norman saw Elvis and decided to take up music because he thought Elvis was stealing from the black church, and Norman wanted to steal the music back.
The show starts at 6 p.m. Smith Auditorium is at 900 State St. Tickets are $14 to $100 and are available at Ranch Records, Harvest Music and at www.larry norman.com
Call: (503) 391-1175. |
