I wish I was! I would wake up for chistmas, get some good food and gifts then back to sleep until spring comes with Honeycomb.

Yes, spring 2005 is gonna be cool!

Awesome that Honeycomb will hit as two discs. I still wish it was earlier. Maybe we will see wome singles pre releases with some good stuff on them. Oh yeah, even though I download, even if I get an album ealry, I always buy the CDs. For my top 3-5 fav bands I will buy the CDs, singles and vinyl.

So I thought I'd download Honeycomb - rough mix - and not listen to it til the album is officially released... and I couldn't resist for more than 2 days. And... I'm glad I didn't. This is an awesome record.

Finally got all of it downloaded late last week - absolutely loving it now - can't wait to hear the finished version and the possible 2nd disc!
My favourite tracks = Sing For Joy, Selkie Bride, Honeycomb, Where The Wind Is Going, Shrimp Song and Lone Child

3rd Annual Australian Frank Black Countdown August 2003 - all involved parties rank EVERY released FB song from FB self/titled to the present - average ranks are calculated - beer (or suitable substitute) is added (mostly in drinking-game form - ie. rate a song well below its average and you drink a punishing amount), then sit back and enjoy a day of frank black....the only problem is quite often memory of the top songs is somewhat limited the next day

The amount that I yearn for it to go into the chorus again at the end is unfathomable. The fact that it doesn't just makes it all the cooler.

Right now my faves would me My Life's In Storage and the Shrimp Song. Least favorites: Go Find Your Saint, Atom In My Heart. I only have listened to the album 2 times and a half though so my opinion is worthless.

yes, i was going to add it's a shame it doesn't go on a bit longer. but maybe that's what makes it so good? in a kind of coastline way? leaves you gagging for more? kudos to the guy in that case!

Wow, this is driving me absolutely nuts, and I'm sure many of you can relate.

If someone would like to share those mp3s with an ol' Frank fan, toss me an email... steev@steev.org. I'd be so appreciative, and surely hook you up with several goodies.

And I promise to buy the album, of course. I own several copies of every Frank album.

Beans.

It's funny how people have different tastes. My favorite song by far is Atom in My Heart. This song is incredible. Second Fave would have to be My Life is In Storage.

The only song I don't like at all is Lone Child. Can't get into that one.

Other than that 15 of the songs are incredible 3 or okay and 1 not so good.

Over all I love the clean Production as well.

Dan

Can't wait for the official release.

I got me so down I got me a headache.

I just got a copy yesterday. I have listened to it twice, so nothing is sticking out quite yet. What a big constrast this album is, from everything. He can go from River Euphrates to My Life Is In Storage. This version of SSMVGD is quite good, all slowed down and twanged out a bit.

I actually think My Life Is In Storage (shall we already refer to it as MLIIS?) is the song that sounds closest from his previous work. It's an epic just like Massif Centrale or Parry The Wind, only toned down.

Rita,
I do enjoy it. I think it will take a while to really pick out the great songs. They are very long and I still have a Pixies short attention span. Haven't got Spokane yet, but it is on the way. It was mailed a day or two after your package was, so it should be here soon.

There are a lot of songs I love and a couple of songs I don't love on the record.

But. Since I usually warm up to all Frank's songs eventually, I don't want to say anything negative. Even when there's a song I'm not so crazy about at first, sometimes, down the road, that can change.

I've been really digging Lone Child, Sad Mans Song and I Burn Today. But the entire "album" is spectacular.
