[EDIT: Care to post a pic of your gear?? Feel free to do so here.]
I haven't had a "real" guitar in over 20 yrs. This G&L Invader XL was found on e-bay. ....Let There Be Rock

I have two G&L guitars--they are excellent. The Invader model is favored by Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains (hope that doesn't turn you off of it). Very nice guitar.

That Tele looks Orange.

Frank Black's stolen Tak?
That Yamaha has a headstock inlay? |

Speedy, i'm waiting on a delivery of a mustang in a couple of days, so i'll let you know.
The tele is a duller shade of orange than what's shown here, and the acoustic could be Franks, it "fell off a back of a lorry" so i was told. Sorry hammerhands, Yamaha inlay? i just play them and tuck them in at night.
My main six string is with my brothers band, similar to Fb's because i'm sad like that. Plus it's a beaut in it's own right. |

I love your Mustang. I want your Mustang.
I've been a huge Jag and Stang fan since I was a pup watch Kurt Cobain smash Mexican strats after carefully puting his Mustangs and Jaguars somewhere safe. And sadly, I've never played either. My local used guitar shop had a vintage tobacco sunburt Jag, '65 I think. Excellent condition, $2500. It sold for $1700! I guess I should be posting this in the "things that make you feel bad" thread...

i can't wait for the mustang to arrive, will be sweeter than the jag, which is quite bulky but still fun to play. To be honest, my fave guitars are probably the cheapest, like the dark brown acoustic, she has a special tone that me and my credit card can't find anywhere.
A friend has a jag-stang, we made a right pair when we were in our wannabe pixie band back in college (a pair o' prats i bet)
this last one is the guitar i learnt to play on when i was a nipper. My dads from the 60s. Was really hard to play back then, but helped me become the player i am today

This is my precious, a 1963 Cadillac Green Gretsch Country Club, with a noose if I don't swing.
1953 Epiphone Triumph Regent /w Benedetto pickup (From Gruhn)
Gar Gilles is a treasure, do look him up, this is what you all need, a Garnet Guillotine all tube distortion unit. All is not what it seems, 1966 Fender Super Reverb which I bought as a "head" and had a cabinet made. It has a 1966 Super Reverb chassis, the rest of it is suspect! It sounds really, really nice. Thank you again Gar.
Boss VF-1 (toy), Garnet Reverb Unit, 1965(ish) Fender Bassman, Tremolux 2-10 Cabinet
This doesn't get out much, 1989 Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion
I have some other stuff...and a new Tele soon (will post). |

Thanks dude!
Man, my first guitar was a Sunn "Mustang" Strat copy, which I hacked up, repainted and never put back together. I'm sure bits of it have ended up in numerous other guitars- in fact, the Marauder copy has the Strat's humbucker in it!
The Jazzmaster is my fave, I love everything about it.

Scarla O, everytime I check out bass guitars all I see are the classic, yet obvious Fenders. I never reallywanted to buy one because of their size. If i was to buy a bass, i'd want it to replicate a six string in body and neck. I'd want it to be yours. i've never seen one of those before. Nice.
Hammerhands, what can I say? A man of inpecable taste. I guess you wouldn't want to sell the ' 89 Gibson? My collection's looking very booring now as this thread develops.
And Doog? We have to hook up. My brother has a habit of taking guitars to pieces and either turning them into Frankenstein efforts or losing that bloody humbucker. i had a Les Paul, the only Gibson I've owned, and all I have left to show for it is the body. Gutted. Both me and her. |

We're all in bands right? I know Scarla O is, but the rest of us? With this amount of gear floating around it's a shame if it was left just in the home. |

Cheers fbc - i totally know what you mean about 'classic' basses. This one is a Danelectro DC 'Pro' Bass, was cheap (by UK standards at least) and has been well reviewed on trusty old Harmony Central...so i'm looking forward to its delivery. |

From deep inside the archives come these pics, probably from 1977 or 78. A nice Rickenbacker 4001 and a real nice Epiphone Casino. Both of these ended up getting traded for other gear that ended up getting traded and so on... Went thru a Les Paul Deluxe and a Firebird before I wised up and started holding on to the stuff I'm still using. I've got a few more I'll post later...

Here's my new "toy", a Reverend Kingsnake. It's flanked by my '02 G&L S500 and my '81 G&L F100. The second pic shows my '03 6120-60
I'm in tone heaven now!!

Here's my guitar and amp*: A Fender Squire Affinity Telecaster and a Vox Pathfinder. Kinda cheapo stuff, really.

I love that Gretsch. There's no stand-by switch on that? It does have a zero-fret!
What's the Reverend like, 15" speaker? Does it have EL84's?
Is that Vox tube or solid-state? |

Hammerhands, the Kingsnake runs a matched pair of 6L6's.
It's a great amp! Switchable from 20 to 60 watts. Great for cranking it without annoying the neighbors, but being able to use it in a club situation. It does a great Fender clean in US mode, and Vox chime and Marshall grunt in UK mode. There's also a LoFi mode that gives me that early Jimmy Page sound (he used an Supro on those early Zep albums) Nice!
The Gretsch does have a zero fret. No standby switch, just the 2 volumes, pickup selector and a tone switch. It's basically what a 1959-1960 6120 would look like. I would prefer to have the "V" Bigsby on it, but the other Bigsby correct for the late 50's. Fender has really done a bang up job getting the Gretsch line retooled. The instruments are way more correct than the pre Fender years.

i've had the pleasure of playing one of these today:
only a Fender 'feckin' Broadcaster!! The original tele. Porn heaven. I tell you, she was beautiful. I couldn't keep my hands off her.
There's a duo-sonic in the paper going cheap. I'm debating whether to get it or not.
'nother fender vs new acoustic?
These tough decisions one has to make in one's life. Mind blowing. |

Looks, sounds, was and is so playable. Just like a telecaster.
I've yet to see a nocaster, dan. I've been trying out some different Fenders to my norm. Cyclones, Tornados, Broncos, blah blah. I still think the tele is the way to go, but i'm biased beyond belief.
Have a look at this:

Shall we say, different. |

At an auction some years back, bidding reached $425,000 for the 1948 Fender Broadcaster prototype, but this was short of the seller’s minimum price [$500,000] so the guitar was not sold. |
