What gigs are in London at that time out of curiosity? 'cause we're starved for good shows here and I'd definitely take some in if there are good bands playing.
It's funny, it all looks so close on the map, I didn't think 7 hours and I DEFINITELY didn't think 100 pounds. I gotta' get out of the UK fast!
Well, maybe I'll miss out on the northern part, take an extra day or two in Scotland, and fly back to London. Valuable info, thanks for the heads up.

Wish I could do a London thing but I have exams so cannot, which is a shame as I'm sure someone owes me drinks...
(plus - forum people are weird)
The trouble with the trains is if you don't book in advance the price creeps up, the advance tickets sell quickly too.
And, the UK isn't that small you know. You could still probably get to Oxford on the london-oxford tube if you wanted to check it out for the day, thats cheap as chips and quite quick.
[edit] did you manage to get tickets for the marathon in the end?
and check nme.com for gigs, it should list a few

Wait a minute, someone's telling me to check NME? Weird.
Nah, didn't get tickets for the marathon. It was up at 3AM on Sunday night (9AM there or something) and I slept through me alarm. :( Not that bummed though, 'cause I wanted to spend a good part of the day outside listening to the symphony play Star Wars and watching the various stars pull in. Natalie owes me a date, I'm hoping I can get her attention. :)
As for not small, keep in mind I'm from Canada. EVERYthing looks small. :)
Too bad I won't see 'ya in London. Maybe on the way out. I definitely owe you a few drinks, no doubts there.

If the trip is so short then I fear I'll most likely be missing the north of England in favour of a (hopefully) cheap plane ride back to London. Which is sad, 'cause I really wanted to see more of the UK, including Ireland. I'm probably flying back home via London though, so maybe then...

that's a tuesday right? should be able to come if it happens. broken up by then. probably have to lie to my parents about where i'm going (yeah i know i'm 18 but they still worry!). But if 50 pence comes with me it's more believable that we just fancied a visit to london.

Well, the 18th would be good too, but I'm there from the 15th (sometime midday, probably) to the 20th (when I leave for ??) so it's pretty much only during the week. :(
If it's really difficult, I suppose we could wait and see if I come back through there (likely).

Yeah I saw them at Reading last year and they were good. I am looking forward to their debut album coming out this month.

I'd say there's a little noise rock action goin on. But good question. I'm not sure what it is, but they sound like they could be from Canada except the vocs.
