Damn it, they don't appear to be selling for Thursday. <sobs>
They were slowly adding days and started the week after working backwards and stopped on Friday. I almost bought Friday but thought I'd wait for Thursday to try and then take Friday if not. Naturally, they didn't list Thursday, and Friday, Sat, ... sold out till Wednesday. I could cry if it weren't for these damned male stereotypes.

Tre, did your friends get tickets/are they going? Anyone?! You have no idea how much I want to see this movie at this theatre. Even opening weekend. After that I'll probably be gone from London.

don't cry! As far as I know (at this late hour) nobody I know got a ticket, the leicester square odeon is now booked out till the end of the month. People aren't even sure the tickets for the 19th did go on sale because they never came up on the website, it's still not up there now. I'll call the odeon for you in the morning and ask what happened, you might want to think about another cinema. Sorry, thats not too helpfull :( I'll flick through some of the uk sci-fi websites (that i obvioulsy know nothing about) see if anyones boasting on there. I also think it's odd that there hasn't been any put up on ebay if you know what i mean (I checked)thats normally the sort of thing touts buy tickets for because they know people will pay. I don't know what to suggest, keep your fingers crossed the may 16th rumour is true! I'll have a proper dig around for you tomorrow when the rest of the uk is awake.
Sorry Dean :(

sorry dean, that REALLY REALLY REALLY sucks. |

Tre, I owe you several drinks and/or hugs even for offering to do this. I didn't see any Thursday ones either. They were kind of sneaky about it, they had the ones for the week after up and then slowly added a few days here and there. I saw Friday come up and debated in my mind, "Do I take it, will they let me have two shows on the same credit card if Thursday comes up?". By the time I'd decided to try it anyway, it and the rest of opening weekend were gone.
Isn't the May 16th thing supposed to be the big premiere with George Lucas and various others attending? I'll probably never get tickets to that, but I will hope. Thank you again, really, that's super nice of you, really, and get some sleep.
I did look around what UK boards I could find but with no luck (though I feel like a fish out of water trying to figure out what the hell's going on there sometimes).
Seriously, I feel remotely better again. Thanks.

hehe, I saw you on the one. looking through the boards no one there got a ticket either, people are settling for seeing it at marble arch odeon(bigger screens - tickets still available) or the uci empire in leicester square (not on sale yet)
The May 16th rumour is that 20th century fox are organising a big event in leicester square to coincide with the premiere, accross five screens in three cinemas all of the films will be shown as a day long marathon culminating in episode III at the uci empire (digital)/ Vue /west end odeon, starting an hour after the premiere, it's not been confirmed yet and there's no tickets around but I've come across this rumour a few places now.
Worst comes to worst you can go hover at the premiere red carpet, bag some autographs then see it on the day of release at another high profile london cinema and you will still (I would put money on it) be surrounded by jubilant uber fans.

Yeah, I read about that shortly after your post. That'd be awesome and I'd totally spend a day doing that. My trip to London (and beyond) is slowly becoming a pilgrimage. :)
I don't really care about the autographs, I just want to see it at what's probably the second most famous theat... err... cinema in the world on opening night - the one where George himself watched it, and presumably with digital screens. Although I've quickly decided I'd be happy to settle for opening weekend.

Give me a shout if you are having problems getting it sorted and I'll help out.

I know what state Dean is in. (I managed to get a ticket for the NY premiere of Episode I from the UK!) Don't wait for him to wake up. Book him one ticket for the 9pm show and he'll praise you until he dies! |

Right, this is how it is, I can't book it because you have to use a credit card and the tickets are only released to the credit card holder in person with a signature. So either we need a friendly londoner or he's got to do it himself.
argh frustrating
