Discovered this by total accident today. They are doing a new tour in 2026 including a stop at the Royal Albert Hall! Well I guess its classical music to Gen-X nowadays

It is remarkable that they're still going 40 years later. Unreal.

Some venues they have never played in the Netherlands. In cities that not a lot of bands visit too.
Special to say the least!

Wondering if the setlists will be out of left field too

Strangely unmoved by the RAH dates. It's a great venue, but a largely seated show seems strange, so I'll pass. Hope they add some more UK dates next year.

They also sold out two shows in Ireland and one in Scotland.

why is it sold out so fast now?
are these venues smaller than the ones they typically play?
or do shows in ireland etc. always sell out quickly?

i mean, it's just another tour, no? nothing special, necessarily.
unless people read the "40 years" differently.

The Alhambra in Dunfermline Scotland is a bit of a strange venue for them. The venue doesn't have a big history of music gigs where they usually have musicals, stand up comedians etc.

Appears to be a seated venue where it can hold between 250 and 2100 people. Not surprised tickets sold out so quickly considering this was the only date in Scotland.

They always sell out quickly in Ireland. Plenty of older fans but also thousands of event junkies who go for Where Is My Mind and Monkey and don't care about much else.

Maybe it's because I've never had a lot of money but I can't imagine paying that much for concert tickets to hear one or two songs.

Happens a lot here. I remember a lot of people leaving Modest Mouse extremely pissed off because they didn't play Float On even though their set was amazing.

I guess there will be some sort of special 40th anniversary release or something else to make this tour more special.
The venues certainly are.

But the artwork on the website seems like a lot of work for just a tour.

Maybe a new greatest hits with 1.0 and 2.0 combined and a couple of new ones.

Release Bam Thwok on it and everyone here will buy it

that's a good point, about the artwork not having been created just for the tour, but maybe also for an upcoming release.

i also wonder which other dates will be added to this tour.
there are plenty of gaps still.
