The least played 2.0 album tracks (taken from spotify). Not including The Night The Zombies Came at this point.
10). 876,289 - Ring The Bell 9). 848,979 - The Lord Has Come Back Today 8). 855,871 - Bird Of Prey 7). 815,157 - Jaime Bravo 6). 766,498 - Death Horizon 5). 556,575 - Doggerel 4). 552,860 - Thunder And Lightning 3). 539,273 - Who's More Sorry Now? 2). 480,730 - Pagan Man 1). 437,962 - You're Such A Sadducee
Honourable mention to the BTE Demos that have more plays than those bottom 5 tracks. Mal Del Mer (584,249), Under The Marigold (565,656) and Chapel Hill (564,268).
I'd personally be happy to see Death Horizon rise up and out of this list.
I haven't looked at 1.0 numbers but Lovely Day is the least played on TLM with 1,405,674. |

Songs on the second half of an album are likely to get the least amount of plays All The Saints did a great job!

Yeah, Birds of Prey, Death Horizon, and Doggerel are some of the best Pixies 2.0.
My bottom 10 (not counting the BTE outtakes disk) would probably be:
Women of War Oona (I don't get the love for these top two!) Bel Esprit Long Rider Hypnotized Tenement Song You're Such A Sadducee There's a Moon On I Hear You Mary Human Crime |

Women Of War would 100% be in my top 10. I wish it was on spotify. It has now got to the point where whenever I watch anything else on Youtube the algorithm will suggest that I listen to Women Of War and so I do listen to Women Of War. |

Yeah I’m a WOW fan too, mainly because of the tempo and guitars, sounds slightly unhinged which I miss in many 2.0 tunes. The backing vocals not so much
Oona is not one of my favs either, but man I love Tenement Song even though the pacing crawls
My bottom 10 would be
Baal’s back And then a mix of other HC and IC songs, probably 60/40 |

I think Baals Back could've been a newer version of Tame or something if the production didn't ruin it. It's baffling how that came out compared to the fiery live version I've seen clips of. |

It was a messy recording for sure. Frank never really has those, maybe some parts of Christmas and the mixing of SR in a way. Could be fun if they did that a whole album. Now it was a weird fit with the rest of HC

I should probably make another thread with the most played songs but I'm pretty sure at least 3 of your bottom 10 would make the the top 10 most played. |

Nonstoperotik has a very strange mix throughout too.
Head Carrier is my least favourite 2.0 album. Horrible, airless production. Baal's Back suffers badly from that. |

And yet no Head Carrier songs are in this bottom 10.
6 Doggerel 2 BTE 2 Indie Cindy
I wonder how many from Zombies will rise above Ring The Bell. |

Head Carrier is all fine. There's no big highs (except maybe All the Saints) or huge lows. It's a totally OK album. Nothing on it really bothers me, except the outrageously bad production of Baals Back, as mentioned already, but the song itself isn't a low point. Agree that it could have been so ferocious and exciting. Instead you just want to skip to the next song. |

I find Indie Cindy endlessly fascinating. So Frank has more or less admitted he was purposefully trying to please the record management people by self-consciously writing Pixies songs. But...
1) many of those songs are fantastic! 2) He put that resentment and inner conflict IN THE SONGS!
I think a more artistically satisfying approach would be something like Bluefinger. You're doing a rocking, wild, sexy and scary Pixies album but on your own terms, doing a crazy concept and doing something Pixies have never really done before. I think Frank could lean into more of these esoteric ideas he has (Golem, etc) and blend that with the Pixies and I think we'd all be really into it. Zombies hints at that but I just don't think it quite gets there. |

Great points about Indie Cindy (as the other forum IC fan).
Sign me up for that second project! |
